Many service members and their families are forced to PCS to an unfamiliar area.  When this move occurs, often spouses are in a position where they must seek employment and benefits in another area.  Children’s lives are upended which can cause grief and anger.

The greatest tip is to connect with a MilRES agent prior to the move and have the agent connect with a MilRES agent at the new destination.  This coordination can be one of the most important steps in the whole process.  The MilRES agent can find out about spousal employment, children’s schools, athletics, and other important issues to be discussed and solutions found.  By having a MilRES agent on both sides of the move, the information can flow back and forth with solutions found creating a happier family during the move.
